Are You Thirsty?
January 16, 2022
To the girl who is struggling. The girl hurting. The girl hoping for breakthrough and broken chains. The girl stuck in patterns of unbelief. The girl desperate to feel alive. The girl muscling through her days in her own strength.
I've been that girl.
I am that girl.
But Jesus. He came so we might have life, and not just any life, but an abundant life. He saw our helplessness and regarded us as important enough to die for. He came so we can have redemption through His blood. He came to put us on the path to restoration. He came to turn the kingdom of this world on its head. Jesus came to make all the wrongs right. He knows we need Him and so He sent the Spirit to help and counsel us. He came so the thirsty will drink.
That is kindness.
That is love.
Are you thirsty?
"'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.' He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit.." John 7:37-39
We aren't left on our own. Sister, are you living like this is true?
When we fall into patterns of self-sufficiency, we live a lie. When we believe we need to prove our worth, we live a lie. When we feed into the world's message of self-help, we live a lie. When we strive to be our own firm foundation, we live a lie. We are actually self-sabotaging when we try to muscle through on our own.
To receive breakthrough, we cannot live as victims, but as overcomers.
That is faith. Believing God wants you drawn to Himself, completely dependent on him, and walking in freedom.
"because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith. Who is the one who conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" - 1 John 5:4-5
This is Good News. This is freedom. Do you believe it’s true? Are you living like it's true?
